Srinagar, Feb 22: In a concerted effort to promote the health and well-being of senior citizens, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, along with Anugraha Delhi, collaborated with Moul Mouj Foundation (MMF) and GK Labs to organize a one-day Healthy Ageing Awareness and Medical Check-up Camp under the Ageing with Dignity series (2024-25).

The camp, held at Moul Mouj Health Centre, Kashmir Clinics Central, Karan Nagar, Srinagar, witnessed an overwhelming response from the elderly community. Many arrived independently, while others were accompanied by caregivers and family members, carrying their medical records for consultation.

Providing comprehensive healthcare services, the camp offered free medical consultations, diagnostic screenings, and awareness sessions aimed at ensuring seniors receive essential medical attention and guidance for healthy ageing.

A team of leading specialists attended to the elderly, including:

  • Dr. Zubair Saleem – Senior Geriatric Consultant and Gerontologist
  • Dr. Zamir – Senior Nephrologist
  • Dr. Arshid Bashir – Senior Rheumatologist
  • Dr. Shakeel-ur-Rehman – General Physician
  • Dr. Masarat Lily – Senior Dental Surgeon

Additionally, experts from Sharp Sight Hospitals conducted free eye check-ups, addressing critical vision-related concerns among seniors.

The initiative underscored the importance of accessible healthcare for the elderly, emphasizing preventive care and early intervention to enhance their quality of life.
