SRINAGAR: An 18-year-old youth from Ganderbal drowned in the Nallah Madumati near Muslim Abad in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district while bathing on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Nazakat Ali, son of Akhter Ali, a resident of Malshi Bagh, Ganderbal. According to witnesses, he was swept away by the strong current of the stream.
Soon after the incident, locals launched a search operation to trace the body, which was still underway when last reports came in.
