SRINAGAR: The Directorate of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Defence Kashmir is set to conduct a region-wide emergency mock drill on Wednesday, aimed at assessing and enhancing preparedness for disaster situations.
In an official statement, a spokesperson for the Commandant General of SDRF & Civil Defence announced that the drill will commence at 4 PM across various locations in the Kashmir Valley.
As part of the exercise, emergency sirens will be sounded simultaneously throughout the region to test the efficacy of existing alert and response mechanisms.
“The public is urged to stay calm and not panic during the siren alerts. Your cooperation is crucial in ensuring the success of this preparedness exercise,” the statement read.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to bolster the region’s emergency response infrastructure and promote public awareness regarding disaster readiness.
