Jammu, April 21: Dr. Rashid Anjum, an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS Jammu, proudly represented India as a ‘Young Ambassador’ at the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) 2025 Congress in Cairns, Australia.
Dr. Anjum was one of just 15 distinguished young orthopaedic surgeons chosen from across the Asia-Pacific region for this exclusive programme, which is designed to foster academic excellence, leadership, and global collaboration among rising stars in orthopaedics.
Throughout the event, Dr. Anjum actively participated in a packed agenda that included academic exchanges, clinical observations, and networking with peers and senior faculty. He presented two impactful lectures: “Orthopaedics in India: Challenges, Innovations, and the Road Ahead,” which discussed the evolving landscape of orthopaedics in India, and “Leadership in Orthopaedics,” which focused on the growing role of young professionals in shaping the future of the field.
Additionally, Dr. Anjum had the opportunity to tour some of Cairns’ leading healthcare facilities, gaining valuable insights into cutting-edge practices in surgical planning, patient care, and hospital-based training.
As part of his ambassadorship, Dr. Anjum was formally recognised with a “Certificate of Honour” at the Congress banquet for his exceptional representation of AIIMS Jammu and India on the international stage.
Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Anjum shared, “It was a tremendous honour to represent both India and AIIMS Jammu at such a prestigious event.
