Srinagar, Dec 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Thursday inaugurated an Awareness Programme-cum-Exhibition for farmers under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
The event brought together progressive farmers, agri-experts, and officials from allied departments to highlight new government initiatives aimed at strengthening the horticulture and agriculture sectors in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC urged farmers to make full use of government schemes including MIDH, the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), and the Jammu & Kashmir Climate Investment Project (JKCIP). He emphasized that these schemes offer modern technologies, financial assistance, and capacity-building support that can significantly enhance farmers’ income and improve their livelihood.
Labroo said the district administration is committed to helping farmers adopt scientific practices, high-density plantation models, and climate-resilient interventions to increase productivity.
