Srinagar, July 23: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of key hydroelectric and renewable energy projects across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of ongoing projects to fully harness the Union Territory’s vast power generation potential. He highlighted that tapping into hydro and renewable energy resources is crucial for ensuring sustainable economic growth and energy self-sufficiency in the region.

Officials from the Power Development Department and other key stakeholders provided updates on various initiatives currently underway. The CM directed concerned departments to remove bottlenecks and adopt a time-bound approach for the completion of projects.

“The power sector holds the key to J&K’s development. We must work in mission mode to turn our potential into progress,” Omar Abdullah stated.
