Srinagar, Aug 12: The University of Kashmir (KU) on Tuesday took part in the Tiranga Yatra organised as part of the ongoing Independence Day celebrations.

The rally, which began along the picturesque banks of Dal Lake and concluded at the Botanical Garden, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the university’s authorities, faculty, staff, and students.

In her message, KU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan said the university’s active involvement in such initiatives reflects its deep commitment to fostering patriotism and national pride among the youth.

“Our participation in these events reaffirms our profound respect for the nation and inspires our students to contribute meaningfully towards building a progressive, united, and self-reliant country,” she remarked.

A major highlight of the celebrations was a live rendition of the National Anthem by students of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), which drew wide appreciation from the audience. Students also showcased a vibrant rangoli artwork depicting the Tiranga and the essence of national spirit, adding colour and creativity to the occasion.

The University’s participation in the Tiranga Yatra underscored its dedication to upholding patriotic values and celebrating the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
