Srinagar, August 5, 2025

In a significant development aimed at providing justice and relief to victims of terror, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that 158 next of kin (NoKs) of Kashmiri civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists have been handed government appointment letters.

The event, described by LG Sinha as a “landmark moment,” was held to acknowledge and support the families who have silently borne the trauma of terrorism for years.

“Wounds that have persisted for decades are now being healed,” the Lieutenant Governor posted on social media platform X. “Today’s landmark event provided a sense of closure to the families who have silently suffered trauma for years.”

The move is part of the administration’s larger outreach and rehabilitation initiative for victims of terror. Many of the beneficiaries had lost loved ones during the turbulent decades of militancy in the region.
