New Delhi, June 5:
India and Turkmenistan reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations during a meeting between External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Dr. Jaishankar, in a post on social media, described the exchange as warm and productive, with discussions focusing on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, health, and the energy sector.
“I welcome his firm condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” Dr. Jaishankar noted, highlighting a shared stance on a critical global issue.
The meeting underscores India’s growing engagement with Central Asian nations, particularly in areas of strategic and economic interest. Both countries have expressed interest in strengthening regional connectivity and boosting energy collaboration, including projects like the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
