Jammu, May 31: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday visited the Paragwal Sector in Jammu and Kashmir to assess the operational preparedness of the forces stationed in the region. He also visited the Tiger Division, where he praised the troops for their exceptional performance during Operation Sindoor.
During his visit, General Dwivedi emphasized the importance of remaining agile and vigilant in response to the constantly evolving security environment along the Line of Control and the International Border.
He commended the strong operational coordination between the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF), noting that such joint efforts are vital to maintaining peace and security in sensitive areas. The COAS specifically lauded Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari of the BSF and her team for their courage and resilience in defending forward posts in the Akhnoor Sector.
In addition, General Dwivedi acknowledged the significant role played by ex-servicemen during Operation Sindoor, appreciating their unwavering support to active forces and their continued contribution to national defence.
The visit underscored the Army’s commitment to operational excellence and the readiness of its personnel to respond effectively to any threat.
