New Delhi, May 23 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday declared that Operation Sindoor has unequivocally exposed Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism in India, marking it as a milestone in the country’s evolving counter-terrorism strategy.

Speaking at the 22nd Border Security Force (BSF) Investiture Ceremony and delivering the Rustamji Memorial Lecture, Shah lauded the Indian Armed Forces and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for enabling decisive actions against terror threats.

“Operation Sindoor is a result of the Prime Minister’s firm political will, the precise intelligence from our agencies, and the Army’s striking capabilities. When these three elements come together, you get an operation like Sindoor,” he said.

The Home Minister emphasized India’s measured and focused response during the operation, asserting that only terrorist infrastructure was targeted. “We neither destroyed any Pakistani military installation nor targeted an airbase. We struck only terrorist camps — those responsible for crimes on Indian soil,” he said.

Reiterating his claim of Pakistan’s direct involvement in terrorism, Shah said the world has witnessed compelling evidence. “After the terror camps in Pakistan were neutralized, it was the Pakistani Army that responded. At the funerals of the eliminated terrorist leaders, senior officers of the Pakistan Army were seen participating and even carrying coffins,” he noted.

Shah asserted that these developments have laid bare Pakistan’s long-denied role in fostering terrorism. “Due to Operation Sindoor and the events that followed, Pakistan now stands completely exposed before the world,” he said.

Reflecting on the evolution of India’s security policy post-2014, the Home Minister highlighted key military actions under the Modi administration. “For decades, India suffered terror attacks without appropriate responses. But in 2014, when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, everything changed. After the Uri attack, we carried out surgical strikes. Following the Pulwama attack, we responded with airstrikes. And now, with Operation Sindoor, we have once again eliminated terrorist hideouts.”

The address was part of a solemn tribute to the BSF and its founder K.F. Rustamji, with Shah commending the force’s role in maintaining border security and national integrity.
