New Delhi, May 21 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 34th death anniversary.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Modi said, “On his death anniversary today, I pay my tributes to our former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi Ji.”

Rajiv Gandhi served as India’s Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989 and was the last Congress leader to head a majority government at the Centre. He was assassinated on May 21, 1991, in a suicide bombing in Tamil Nadu.
