Lucknow, May 18: Rishabh Pant is under pressure to turn things around after a difficult patch as Lucknow Super Giants face a crucial final stretch in their quest for IPL playoff qualification. With only three league matches left, beginning with Monday’s encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, LSG must secure decisive wins to keep their faint hopes alive.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, last year’s finalists, are already out of the running and will be competing for pride alone. Meanwhile, Lucknow still cling to a slim chance of breaking into the top four — but this requires them to reach 16 points with three successive victories.
However, LSG’s net run rate of -0.469 presents a significant hurdle, making it almost impossible to qualify unless they overwhelm their remaining opponents by large margins.
