New Delhi, May 6:
India has signed a landmark Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United Kingdom, marking a significant development in the country’s international trade relations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the signing of the agreement through a post on X (formerly Twitter), calling it a major milestone achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“With the signing of the landmark Free Trade Agreement with the UK, Bharat today set a significant milestone under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji,” Shah posted. He described the agreement as a reflection of Modi’s strategic vision to boost India’s foreign trade while maintaining a commitment to global cooperation.

While official details of the agreement are awaited, the FTA is expected to enhance trade volumes, reduce tariffs, and open new avenues for investment and services between the two nations. The deal comes after multiple rounds of negotiations held over the past few years.

The agreement is part of India’s broader push to strengthen economic ties with key global partners and enhance its presence in international markets.
