Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) after a fake website link falsely claiming to show Class 12 examination results went viral on social media, triggering widespread confusion among students and parents.
According to officials, unidentified individuals created a counterfeit website that closely resembled the official JKBOSE portal. The fraudulent link, which falsely displayed exam results, was widely circulated, causing panic and distress in the student community.
Confirming the incident, the Secretary of JKBOSE said, “We have taken the matter very seriously and lodged a formal complaint with the police. Those behind the creation and distribution of this fake website will face strict legal action.”
The board has advised students and guardians to rely solely on JKBOSE’s official website for authentic information. Meanwhile, the cybercrime wing of the police has launched an investigation to trace the source of the fake link and identify the culprits.
