SRINAGAR — In a major success against cross-border terrorism, the Border Security Force (BSF), in collaboration with Punjab Police, recovered a cache of arms and ammunition near Bharopal village in Punjab’s Amritsar district.
The joint operation was launched on Wednesday evening following specific intelligence inputs provided by the BSF Intelligence Wing, according to an official statement.
“Acting on credible information, BSF personnel and Punjab Police conducted a search operation in the Bharopal area, resulting in the recovery of two hand grenades, three pistols along with six magazines, and 50 live rounds,” the statement said.
Officials described the seizure as a significant blow to cross-border terror networks believed to be operating in the region. In the wake of the recovery, security forces have heightened surveillance and intensified search operations along the international border to prevent any further attempts at infiltration or arms smuggling.
