JALNA, Maharashtra (April 30): A young man from Jalna city in Maharashtra, who recently returned from Kashmir, has claimed that one of the suspected attackers involved in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack spoke to him just a day before the incident.

Adarsh Raut, recalling his encounter, said he met the man at a food stall in the picturesque Baisaran Valley on April 21. The man allegedly asked him, “Hindu ho kya? You don’t look like you are from Kashmir.”

The chilling revelation comes as investigators piece together the events leading to the attack. On April 22, a group of terrorists opened fire on a meadow near the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, and injuring several others.

Raut’s statement has added a new layer to the investigation, raising questions about the attackers’ movements and potential preparations leading up to the deadly assault. Authorities are now looking into the possibility that the terrorists were scouting the area in advance, possibly blending in with tourists and locals.

As the investigation continues, Raut’s interaction with one of the suspects could offer vital clues in identifying the perpetrators and understanding their actions before the attack.
