Srinagar, April 22 – In the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a high-level security meeting in Srinagar to review the situation and strategize further actions. The meeting, attended by senior officials from various security agencies, focused on the latest developments and the ongoing efforts to track down those responsible for the attack.

The attack, which occurred earlier in the day, targeted civilian and security personnel in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in South Kashmir. Initial reports suggest that militants ambushed a security convoy, leading to casualties among both security forces and civilians. The exact number of victims is still being confirmed.

In his address during the meeting, Shah emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to combatting terrorism in the region and ensuring the safety of the citizens. “The sacrifice of our brave security forces will not go in vain. We are taking all necessary steps to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he said.

The Union Home Minister also instructed intelligence agencies to ramp up their efforts in tracking down the militants responsible and to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the armed forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and security despite the challenges.
