SRINAGAR: Dr. GV Sandeep Chakravarthy, IPS, has officially assumed the role of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar.
He was received with a warm welcome by senior officials at the District Police Headquarters, where a ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented in recognition of his appointment.
In a formal handover ceremony, outgoing SSP Imtiyaz Hussain passed on the responsibilities to Dr. Chakravarthy, marking a smooth transition in leadership.
Shortly after taking charge, the new SSP convened a meeting with district police officers. During the session, he underscored the importance of people-oriented policing, active crime deterrence, and stronger community ties.
Dr. Chakravarthy called on the force to carry out their duties with sincerity, ethical commitment, and a shared mission to uphold law and order while fostering public confidence in the police system.
