Srinagar,Apr 21: The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), which has remained closed due to landslides and heavy rainfall, could see partial reopening within the next 24 to 36 hours, according to Ramban Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary. While a complete restoration may take up to two days, authorities are aiming to resume one-way traffic by tomorrow evening or the following morning, depending on weather and road clearance operations.“Our teams are working round the clock to make the highway motorable again. If conditions allow, we hope to allow limited movement by tomorrow evening or early next day,” Chaudhary stated. He also confirmed that there are currently no vehicles stuck along the highway. Approximately 140 vehicles that were earlier stranded have been safely moved to the Banihal side, bringing relief to commuters and their families.
