SRINAGAR, April 19 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday highlighted Jammu and Kashmir’s comprehensive strategy aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive economic development. Addressing members of YPO-Global One during an event in Srinagar, the LG outlined the Union Territory’s ongoing efforts to boost industrial development, transform urban infrastructure, and implement welfare initiatives over the past five years.
He stated that the administration is dedicated to ensuring that the benefits of industrial progress reach every citizen while upholding environmental responsibility. “Our goal is to unlock Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial potential by striking a balance between economic advancement, ecological preservation, and social equity,” he said.
LG Sinha also underscored the promotion of sectors that resonate with the region’s inherent strengths, particularly tourism. He noted the surge in tourist arrivals and the government’s push to develop lesser-known destinations, along with promoting film tourism and associated sectors. Notably, the tourism industry in J&K has recently been accorded formal industry status.
