Srinagar, April 17: Jammu and Kashmir’s Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, has made a heartfelt appeal for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, assuring them of a warm and respectful welcome by the local Muslim community.

Speaking at the “Talk for Peace” seminar held in Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Mufti Nasir addressed a gathering comprising members from various faiths and backgrounds. He emphasized that the return of Kashmiri Pandits is long-awaited. “The Muslim community is ready to embrace our Pandit brothers with open arms,” he stated during his address.

Swami Hari Prasad, the event’s organizer, expressed gratitude to the Grand Mufti for voicing concerns related to the displaced community and presented him with a letter of appreciation.

The Grand Mufti also underscored the importance of communal harmony in today’s times. Referring to a recent incident that sparked tensions between communities, he said efforts were made to restore peace and maintain brotherhood. “My consistent message has been one of unity and understanding among all communities, and I remain committed to that path,” he affirmed.
