Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday hit back at BJP leader Tarun Chugh over his remarks on the unity of Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that the ruling party at the Centre was responsible for the region’s division.
Responding to Chugh’s comments, the Chief Minister said it was “good” that the BJP leader had acknowledged the importance of unity, but pointed out that the idea of separation was initiated by the Bharatiya Janata Party itself.
“Our position has always been clear. We have always wanted Jammu and Kashmir to remain one entity,” Omar Abdullah said. “It was the BJP that separated Ladakh, and we still wish for Ladakh to be reunited with Jammu and Kashmir.”
