The District Administration Shopian today organised the inaugural function of Phase-II of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram” at Government Degree College (GDC) Shopian.
The programme was held with the aim of celebrating the historical, cultural and patriotic significance of Vande Mataram, which has played a vital role in India’s freedom struggle and continues to inspire a sense of national pride and unity among citizens.
The event witnessed the participation of district officers, faculty members, students, and members of civil society. Speakers highlighted the enduring relevance of Vande Mataram as a symbol of India’s freedom movement, emphasizing its role in fostering patriotism, unity, and cultural consciousness, particularly among the youth.
