Srinagar, December 10 — In a major crackdown against the narcotics trade, Srinagar Police have attached property worth around ₹2 crore belonging to the family of a notorious drug peddler, under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The attached property includes a three-storeyed residential house along with one kanal of land located in Shaltang. The property is in the possession of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, father of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a known drug peddler from the same area.

Police said Manzoor Ahmad Bhat is an accused in FIR No. 98/2025, registered under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Parimpora. During the course of investigation, it was established that the property had been acquired using illegal proceeds generated from drug trafficking.

Following the findings, the competent authority ordered the attachment of the property under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. The attachment was executed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures.

As per the order, the owner has been barred from selling, leasing, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the said property.

Reaffirming its resolve, Srinagar Police stated that it remains committed to dismantling drug networks and taking stringent action against individuals involved in the narcotics trade.
