Srinagar, December 08:
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Srinagar Police on Monday attached immovable property valued at around ₹75 lakh belonging to a notorious drug peddler, acting under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The seized property includes a residential house and six marlas of land located in Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh. The assets are registered in the name of Mohammad Irfan Sheikh, son of Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh, who is an accused in FIR No. 48/2025 under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sangam.

According to officials, investigations revealed that the attached property had been acquired using proceeds generated from narcotics trafficking. Following the findings, the competent authority issued an attachment order under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, paving the way for the seizure.

The attachment was executed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, with police affirming that all legal formalities were strictly followed. According to the order, the owner is barred from selling, transferring, modifying, or creating any third-party interest in the property.

Reiterating its commitment to eradicating drug networks, Srinagar Police said it will continue to “identify, pursue, and legally dismantle” assets linked to the narcotics trade.
