Jammu, Nov 4: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, today inaugurated the annual Jhiri Mela at Marh Sub-Division in Jammu, marking the beginning of one of the region’s most significant religious and cultural events.
During his visit, the Lt Governor paid obeisance at the sacred shrine of Baba Jitto and Bua Kauri, revered for their legacy of honesty, self-sacrifice, and justice for farmers.
On the occasion, LG Sinha dedicated a pilgrim community hall and four modular bus stops to the public, aimed at improving facilities for devotees and visitors attending the fair. He also laid the foundation stone for the first ‘Indoor Sports Complex’ at Marh Sub-Division, a project coming up under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
