Srinagar, Oct 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the immense potential of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth, noting that the launch of train services has boosted the Valley’s goods movement. He made the remarks while launching the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojna in New Delhi — a ₹24,000 crore initiative aimed at enhancing farm productivity, promoting crop diversification, improving irrigation, and expanding farm credit across 100 districts.Among the attendees was Fayaz Ahmad Ganaie, a progressive farmer from Ganderbal, who shared his success story. “I come from Kashmir and benefited from your government’s schemes. Today, I employ 14 people and earn nearly ₹15 lakh annually,” he told the Prime Minister.

Modi praised Kashmir’s youth, saying, “They have immense strength. With train services operational, Valley produce like apples is now reaching Delhi swiftly, and even cars are being transported directly to Srinagar.”During the interaction, the Prime Minister encouraged farmers to adopt natural farming gradually. Participants from across India shared their experiences with schemes such as PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, and showcased innovations like aeroponic potatoes and value-added garlic products.
