October 13: US President Donald Trump claimed he was “good at solving wars,” dismissing the need for a Nobel Prize as he shifted attention to rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Speaking aboard Air Force One en route to the Middle East, Trump reiterated that his tariff threats had helped avert war between India and Pakistan, stressing that his diplomacy aimed to save lives, not win awards.Calling the recent Israel-Hamas ceasefire the “eighth war” resolved during his presidency, Trump said his upcoming visit to Israel and Egypt would focus on strengthening the truce and supporting Gaza’s reconstruction.
Referring to the latest border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Trump said, “I hear there’s a war now between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I’ll handle that next — because I’m good at solving wars.”According to reports, at least 58 Pakistani soldiers and 23 Afghan troops were killed in recent cross-border fighting.
