SRINAGAR, June 15: Ten people were injured on Sunday after a Taveera vehicle they were travelling in collided with a road divider near the National Highway Fruit Mandi in the Jalblipora area of Bijbhera, located in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The vehicle, bearing registration number JK14B-9328, reportedly lost control and struck the divider, causing injuries to all ten occupants.
Following the incident, the injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbhera for immediate medical attention. Seven of the victims were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advanced treatment, while the remaining three were discharged after receiving first aid.
The injured have been identified as:
- Sanjay Kumar (30), son of Sri Biree Singh, resident of New Delhi
- Benu (33), wife of Sanjay Kumar, resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh
- Ajay Kumar (22), son of Dharminder, resident of Faridabad
- Ifat (23), wife of Ajay Kumar, also from Faridabad
- Dharminder (48), son of Ram Dass, resident of Faridabad
- Anjali (17), daughter of Dharminder, resident of Faridabad
- Durgash Devi (47), wife of Dharmendra Kumar, resident of Faridabad, Haryana
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
