SRINAGAR: Former Meteorological Centre Srinagar Director Sonam Lotus on Wednesday warned of rising water levels across Jammu and Kashmir due to continuous heavy rainfall.He said the downpour would persist till afternoon before gradually easing, with normal weather expected from tomorrow. “People must remain cautious as water levels are rising fast,” Lotus cautioned.The MeT Centre has also issued an advisory, warning of possible flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones. Authorities confirmed a sharp rise in the Jhelum, Tawi, and other rivers, raising fears of flooding in low-lying areas.
