Srinagar, Sept 8: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said it will approach the Hazratbal Police Station after its attempt to lodge an FIR against J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Dharakshan Andrabi was denied at the Nigeen Police Station.
PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged the Jammu and Kashmir Police to immediately initiate an FIR, citing the seriousness of the issue.“In view of the gravity of the offence – deliberately hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims thereby provoking them – I urge J&K Police to take immediate action,” Mufti said.The party has alleged that the Waqf Board Chairperson’s actions have offended the religious feelings of the Muslim community, and warned that ignoring the matter could further provoke public sentiment.
