April 23: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is being briefed by the Chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces — including Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi — on the prevailing security situation in Kashmir following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on Monday.
According to defence sources, top military officials have been urgently dispatched to the affected areas. Local army formations have been placed on high alert, with instructions to intensify ongoing counter-terrorism operations across the region.
Additional troops have been deployed near the attack site to conduct extensive search and destroy operations aimed at neutralizing remaining threats.
The briefing underscores the gravity of the situation and the government’s resolve to address any further security challenges in the Valley.
