Srinagar, Feb 23 – A massive fire broke out at Allochibagh Bund in Srinagar on Sunday afternoon, engulfing a three-story residential building and sending plumes of thick smoke into the sky.
According to officials, the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) headquarters received an alert about the blaze at 12:54 PM. Responding swiftly, a fire brigade was dispatched within a minute and reached the scene without delay. Firefighters immediately began efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames rapidly consuming the upper floors of the house, with residents and neighbors rushing to safety. Panic gripped the area as locals attempted to assist emergency responders by providing water and clearing pathways for fire trucks.
As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Officials have yet to confirm the extent of property damage or whether there have been any injuries or casualties. However, rescue operations are underway, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
