Anantnag, August 2: The Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) on Saturday conducted multiple searches across Anantnag district in connection with FIR No. 16/2025 registered under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
During the operation, officials arrested Shahid Rehman Bhat, son of Ab. Rehman Bhat and a resident of Shangus, Nowgam, Anantnag. Bhat, the proprietor of M/s AR Trading Agri Services Pvt. Ltd, is accused of swindling crores of rupees in a large-scale financial fraud.
According to the Economic Offences Wing, Bhat allegedly duped several individuals under the guise of agricultural trading and investment schemes. The searches were aimed at gathering crucial evidence related to the case.
