SRINAGAR, July 25:
In a significant move to strengthen Jammu and Kashmir’s industrial sector, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo held a high-level meeting with Union Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), S.C.L. Das. The meeting focused on laying a strategic roadmap for sustainable growth of MSMEs in the region.
Key areas of discussion included enhancing youth entrepreneurship, strengthening skill development initiatives, expanding market access, and the revival of stressed industrial units across Jammu and Kashmir. The officials also explored ways to create a more resilient and self-sustaining MSME ecosystem in the Union Territory.
Chief Secretary Dulloo emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to harness the potential of J&K’s youth and local industries. He highlighted the challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in accessing capital and markets, and called for targeted support to make them more competitive.
Union MSME Secretary S.C.L. Das assured full support from the Ministry, reiterating the government’s commitment to industrial growth and job creation in the region. He also underlined the importance of aligning MSME policies with local needs to ensure inclusive development.
The meeting marks a pivotal step toward revitalizing the industrial landscape in J&K, with both central and UT governments committed to fostering innovation, employment, and economic resilience through the MSME sector.
