SRINAGAR: Unidentified burglars broke into the shrine of Hazrat Syed Hassan Simnani (RA) in Kulgam, South Kashmir, during the night and looted cash from a large donation box, sparking outrage among locals.
CCTV footage shows two individuals breaking into the premises and stealing the offerings. Locals suspect drug addicts are behind the theft, calling it a desecration of a revered spiritual site.
“This box always contains a significant amount due to the deep faith of devotees. It’s heartbreaking,” said a local resident.Devotees discovered the vandalism early morning, expressing anger over the act, which they said violated the sanctity of the shrine.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. A senior officer said the culprits would be identified and arrested soon.
