BENGALURU, Aug 9: Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Saturday revealed that the Indian Air Force (IAF) shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and a large aircraft during Operation Sindoor, marking the largest-ever recorded surface-to-air kill by India.
Speaking at the 16th Air Chief Marshal L. M. Katre Memorial Lecture here, Singh detailed the scale of the operation.
“We have indications of at least one AWC in that hangar, along with several F-16s under maintenance. We have confirmation of five fighters destroyed, along with one large aircraft—possibly an AWC—which was taken out from a distance of about 300 kilometres,” he said.”This is, in fact, the largest recorded surface-to-air kill we can speak of,” the Air Chief added.
