New Delhi, July 25:
The Atal Pension Yojana (APY), a government-backed pension scheme administered by PFRDA, has surpassed 8 crore enrolments, with 39 lakh new subscribers added in FY 2025–26 alone. The milestone coincides with the scheme’s 10th anniversary since its launch on May 9, 2015.

Targeted at workers in the unorganized sector, APY offers a guaranteed monthly pension of ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 after 60 years of age. The scheme is open to non-income tax paying citizens aged 18–40.

The success is credited to active participation by banks, the Department of Posts, and state-level banking committees, supported by extensive outreach efforts led by PFRDA.
