United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has strongly condemned the recent armed attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which targeted civilians, including tourists.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Guterres emphasized that “attacks against civilians are unacceptable under any circumstances.” He expressed deep concern over the incident and extended his condolences to the victims and their families.
The UN chief’s statement comes amid widespread condemnation and heightened tensions in the region following the attack, which has also prompted shutdown calls and disruptions in academic schedules, including postponed university examinations.
