SRINAGAR: Central University of Kashmir has announced a series of austerity measures, including online classes and work-from-home arrangements on Fridays and designated “Green Saturdays,” in response to the current situation.
According to an official order issued by the Deputy Registrar, the new measures will come into effect from May 22, 2026. Under the revised arrangement, both teaching and non-teaching staff will be allowed to work from home on Fridays and Green Saturdays, while classes will be conducted online as part of the university’s cost-cutting initiatives.
The decision was taken following recommendations made during a Dean’s Committee meeting held on May 13 under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor.
