Srinagar, Nov 30: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against a police official accused of running a job scam.

The chargesheet in FIR No. 15/2025, registered under Section 420 of the IPC, has been submitted before the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Pulwama.

Officials said Riyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar and a resident of Naroo Ratnipora, Pulwama, allegedly duped several people by promising government jobs in exchange for money. Dar, a Head Constable of IRP 21st Battalion (Belt No. 53/IRP; ARP No. 993957), is accused of exploiting his position for personal gain.

The case originated after EOW Srinagar received credible information about the alleged fraud and initiated a preliminary enquiry. The investigation found prima facie evidence that Dar took money from job aspirants on false assurances of employment. A formal FIR was subsequently registered.

With the investigation confirming offences under Section 420, the chargesheet has now been filed for further judicial action.

Crime Branch Kashmir reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption, fraud, and other economic offences.
