Srinagar Police Observes Constitution Day Across All Establishments

Srinagar, Nov 26: Srinagar Police on Wednesday observed Constitution Day across all its units and establishments, marking the 75th year of the Constitution of India and reaffirming its commitment to uphold the nation’s constitutional values.

The main event was held at the District Police Office (DPO) Srinagar, where IGP Kashmir V. K. Birdi (IPS) led officers and officials in the ceremonial reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India. He was joined by senior officers including DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey (IPS), SSP Srinagar Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy (IPS), and other officials of District Police Srinagar.

During the observance, the gathering collectively reiterated their dedication to uphold the constitutional principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity in the discharge of their duties. Officers highlighted that the Preamble reflects the moral and guiding framework upon which the nation stands, emphasizing social, economic, and political justice as well as the values of liberty and equality.

Officials said that reading the Preamble on Constitution Day symbolizes a renewed pledge by the Jammu & Kashmir Police to protect citizens’ rights, uphold the rule of law, and strengthen national unity and integrity.

The event was simultaneously observed at all police establishments across Srinagar, reinforcing the significance of constitutional values in policing and public service.
