November 26:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a Constitution Day message on Wednesday, urged citizens to prioritise their duties as India advances toward the goal of a Viksit Bharat. He also called on people to strengthen democracy by actively exercising their right to vote.

Reflecting on the Constitution’s adoption in 1949, PM Modi noted its pivotal role in shaping India’s progress and empowering people from modest backgrounds to rise to positions of national service. He recalled moments symbolising his respect for democratic institutions—bowing at Parliament’s steps in 2014 and placing the Constitution on his forehead in 2019.

National Constitution Day, or Samvidhan Divas, is observed on November 26 each year to commemorate the Constitution’s adoption, which came into force on January 26, 1950.
