Kulgam, Feb 23: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir during her visit to Kulgam today. She inaugurated two newly constructed New Type Primary Health Centers (NTPHC) in Lammer and Chowgam villages, marking a significant step toward improving healthcare accessibility in the region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah; Director Health Services, Kashmir; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC); Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR); senior health department officials, and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasized the government’s resolve to bridge healthcare gaps, particularly in underserved areas. “The Omar Abdullah-led government is dedicated to ensuring quality medical services reach every doorstep, thereby reducing dependence on distant hospitals,” she stated.

Sakeena Itoo further highlighted the crucial role of accessible healthcare services, particularly for rural communities. “These newly established health centers will provide essential medical services to the residents of these villages and adjoining areas, ensuring that no one is deprived of timely healthcare,” she said.

She reiterated the government’s focus on delivering quality healthcare for all, stressing that efforts are being made to equip medical facilities with essential resources to better serve public needs.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah, expressed confidence that these new health centers would significantly enhance healthcare services for the local population, further strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the district.
