A US military airstrike on Ras Isa port in Yemen’s Hodeidah governorate has resulted in the deaths of at least 38 individuals, with 102 others reported injured, according to local health officials in Hodeidah, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The Israeli military stated that it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen targeting Israeli territory.

In a separate development, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged Israel to lift its prolonged blockade to allow humanitarian aid into the region. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with international partners to press for a ceasefire. In a statement shared on X, Carney also advocated for the release of hostages, increased humanitarian aid for Gaza’s civilians, and the pursuit of a sustainable two-state solution.

Earlier in the day, Al Jazeera reported the tragic loss of a family of 13 members in an Israeli airstrike on a home in Khan Younis. This follows a broader pattern of devastating Israeli strikes across Gaza, which have killed at least 32 people, as per medical sources.

In a statement, a coalition of 12 aid organizations described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as one of the worst failures of the current generation. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the ongoing conflict has claimed the lives of over 51,000 Palestinians, with more than 116,000 injured since the start of the war. The Gaza Government Media Office, however, updated the death toll to more than 61,700, with thousands still missing under the rubble.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks resulted in 1,139 Israeli deaths, with more than 200 people taken hostage.(ANI)
