SRINAGAR, Apr 17: A man’s body was discovered on Thursday near the office of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) in Srinagar’s Nishat locality, triggering a police inquiry.
Eyewitnesses said the body was noticed by passersby, who immediately informed the authorities. Soon after, a team from the Nishat Police Station arrived at the scene and began an initial investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Adil Ahmed, 30, a resident of the Nishat area. His body has been shifted for medico-legal formalities, officials said.
“The cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination,” a police official stated, noting that further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
A case has been registered, and necessary legal proceedings have been initiated.
