SRINAGAR: Traffic Police City Srinagar on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, urging commuters, pedestrians and transport operators to strictly follow traffic regulations to ensure smooth movement across the city during the festival.
The advisory asked citizens to park vehicles only at designated parking spaces and avoid roadside sale of sacrificial animals, warning that such activities could lead to traffic congestion.
Authorities also urged passengers and transport operators to avoid overloading in public service vehicles and encouraged car pooling to reduce pressure on city roads.
Hawkers and vendors were directed not to occupy footpaths, while commuters were advised to use alternative and diversion routes wherever necessary.
Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators were instructed to avoid unnecessary stoppages, slow movement and boarding or deboarding passengers at unauthorized locations.
The Traffic Police further appealed to the public to maintain lane discipline, avoid overtaking and cooperate during traffic diversions to ensure unhindered passage for emergency services.
Citizens were also advised to avoid unnecessary movement in congested areas and refrain from last-minute travel rushes during the festival days.
The advisory stated that public cooperation would help maintain smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.
