Mendhar, Poonch, April 30: In the wake of the recent Pahalgam Terrorist Attack, Jammu and Kashmir Minister Javed Ahmed Rana has strongly advocated against the displacement of local residents and called for a long-term peaceful resolution to the conflict in the region.Addressing the media on Tuesday, Rana said, “In Jammu and Kashmir, we have been struggling with proxy wars for the last 70 years, but the solution is not to ask the people staying here to leave. I appeal to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister not to displace anyone.”He emphasized that war is not a viable solution, adding, “A once-and-for-all settlement should be done. Wars weaken nations. If we want India to become a ‘Vishwa Guru’ (world leader), we must avoid war and focus on peace.”Rana’s remarks come at a time of heightened security concerns and political debate over how to address the persistent threat of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. His statement highlights a growing call among regional leaders for dialogue, development, and reconciliation rather than militarized responses. As the government continues its assessment of the security situation, voices like Rana’s add a significant dimension to the discourse surrounding conflict resolution in the Union Territory.
